Born from
3am desperation
and a pile of pillows.
We didn't set out to start a baby brand. We were just two exhausted parents trying to help our daughter feel comfortable after a feed, and running out of ideas.
When our little girl arrived, we were over the moon. What we weren't prepared for was how much she struggled after every feed. The fussiness. The arching. The long, long stretches of holding her upright while she slowly, finally, settled. Every feed, every single one, ended the same way: her uncomfortable, and us too tired to think straight.
"We weren't just tired. We were trapped, four walls, a crying baby, and nowhere to go."
Then the world locked down. COVID-19 brought quarantine with it, and suddenly that daily exhaustion had no release valve. No visiting family. No café to walk to. No change of scenery to reset. Just the two of us, working from home, with a fussy baby who needed to be held upright for hours after every feed, and nowhere to put her down safely once she finally drifted off.
Out of desperation one night, we started experimenting. We gathered what we had, a couple of firm pillows stacked at an angle for a gentle incline, a soft head pillow shaped around them for neck support, rolled towels tucked beneath her legs to keep her position stable. It looked ridiculous. We didn't care.
But it worked. After a few tries, she settled into it, and actually stayed comfortable. The fussing eased. She rested. We breathed.
3am When the first prototype was born
Pillows & towels The only materials we had
1 baby girl Who inspired everything
That makeshift setup (pillows, a head rest, rolled towels) was the very first NuraNest. It was messy and imperfect, but it showed us that the right gentle incline and support in the right places could make a real difference. Not a miracle. Just the kind of purposeful, calm comfort that helps babies settle after feeds, and gives parents a few minutes to breathe.
We spent the months that followed refining that original idea, learning from every settled feed and every failed one, understanding what actually mattered (the angle, the head support, the shape retention), and stripping away everything that didn't. The result is NuraNest: a supervised post-feed support system designed for the hardest 20 minutes of every parent's day.
We built it because we needed it. We made it better because other parents deserve something that works, something honest, safe, and built with genuine care. Not another overclaimed miracle product. Just real support, from parents who've been exactly where you are.
